VIDEO CONTENT PRODUCER

Want to pave the way for our digital journey and endeavours? The Royal Swedish Opera is looking for a creative and organized Content Producer to produce cutting-edge and captivating video content across multiple channels. Since 2008, the Royal Swedish Opera has broadcasted live from the opera house in Stockholm. But we want to reach an even larger audience which is why we have invested in different digital channels and are looking to add a new key position, Video Content Producer, to our Communications Department.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

You will play an important role in the Royal Swedish Opera’s digital endeavours. From idea to publication, you will be responsible for creating video material to support our operations. Materialsuch asdocumentaries, trailers, personal portraits, themed-series and biographies – produced and adapted for different formats and lengths for all digital channels, including our website, social media channels, YouTube, Live in Cinemas and Opera Vision, etc. You will responsiblefor publishing the material and following up onthe impactin ourdigital channels.

You will participate in all broadcasts from the Royal Opera, both live broadcast and pre-produced content together with the broadcast team. You have the competence and skills to film and editinterviews with performing artists. You will also be part of further developing the Royal Opera’s own TV channel “Operan Play”.

WHAT SKILL SET WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a new colleague who ispassionate about storytelling and using the magic of moving pictures to create captivating stories that engage people.

You have extensive knowledge in camera technology, editing, graphic settings, subtitling and track laying. You understand the interaction and dynamics ofdifferent digital channels, online marketing, as well as what formats appeal to what target groups.

You are well-organised and skilled in planning and project management.

You have a well-developed eye and genuine interestin visual expressions, lighting and design. You have a good understanding of what impacts and engages people.

You are used to managing several parallel projects at the same time and working independently.

You have excellent English and Swedish language skills – both written and spoken.

You most likelyhave a university degree or similar work experience in film and are competent in all or many of the following areas:

– Production, filming, camera, audio and lighting: production of video material, photo technique combined with artistic vision, as well as expertise in traditional and VR/3D.
– Marketing: marketing and communication skills and how they are applied in practice.
– Online distribution: different digital channels, paid and earned media, social media, traffic flows, online behaviour, distribution strategies, etc.
– Post-production for digital platforms: post-processing of digital video, audio and graphics. Dramaturgical and technical processes in post-production.
– Concept development online video: storytelling online, creating and enhancing dramaturgy, different types of narrative, developing a work flow.

You are used to working in PC- and Mac environments, Adobe CS-suite, Microsoft Office, social media (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Vimeo), EPiServer, FTP etc. You will be part of a team of 17 people and report directly to the Communications Director. You will work in close collaboration with the Royal Opera’s Audio, Lighting and Video Department, Communication officers, Broadcast Manager and Video Producer.

THE POSITION AND YOUR APPLICATION

This is a permanent position with an initial six-month trial period. At times, you may be required to work evenings and weekends, as well as in the summer period. You will report directly to the Communications Director.
